Fewer, better
everyday clothes

The two founders of Halcy laughing over an oxblood sample sweater in their Porto studio

Halcy started in 2016 at a kitchen table in Porto, with two friends tired of buying clothes that did not last a winter. We went looking for the mills that make for the best labels in Europe, and asked them to make the plain things we actually wear.

Ten years on, every piece comes in nine colours that all work together. It is made by six family mills within an hour of the studio, and sold here, directly, at a price that pays everyone in the chain properly.

Nine colours, and only nine

We dye to the same nine colours every season, so a sweater bought this year matches trousers bought three years ago.

What we will not do

No sales

Prices are set once, fairly, and stay put. Nothing is marked up to be marked down.

No air freight

Everything travels by road from the mills to Porto, and from Porto to you.

No new colours every season

The nine colours stay. When we add a piece, it has to work with all of them.

No virgin polyester

Natural fibres first; where a synthetic is needed for strength, it is recycled.
